Student Candidate for U.S. Presidential Scholars
The District is proud to announce senior Emma Woerle has been selected as a candidate for the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program! The program was established in 1964 by Executive Order of the President to recognize some of our nation’s most distinguished graduating seniors for their accomplishments in many areas, including academic success, leadership, and service to school and community.
Candidates are selected based on outstanding performance on the ACT Assessment or the College Board SAT, or nomination by the Chief State School Officer or one of their partner recognition organizations. Of the 3.6 million graduating seniors this year, fewer than 4,200 were invited to apply. Winners receive a special medallion and are invited to a ceremony sponsored by the White House in Washington D.C. in June.
Congratulations, Emma! #WYOAREASpartans
